Champagne Valley walking club walk to Van Damm's Cascades

This Tuesday 26 May the walking club will be doing a moderate walk to Van Damm's cascades walking along the contour below the Little Berg. The walk will be about 4 hours in long. Meet at the Drakensberg Sun car park at 8.00 am. We will take cars to the top of Bergview which will offers easy access to the contour path and eliminating the steep climb which would otherwise be required. Bring food and drink.

Central Drakensberg walking club Tuesday walk 10 March

The Central Drakensberg walking club will be visiting the Spionkop Nature reserve this Tuesday 10 March. We will meet at Thokosiza at 7.00 am from where we will take cars to the reserve. This will be a moderate 3 hour walk followed by a picnic brunch along side the dam.  Good game viewing opportunities. Bring food & drink.

Central Drakensberg walking club Tuesday walk 17 February

This Tuesday 17 February we will meet at Scrumpy Jacks at 7.00 am for a short walk in the nearby forest. Bring drinks and something to eat. Afterwards we might go to Scrumpy's for some honey baked cheese cake voted the second best in the world.

Central Drakensberg walking club- Tuesday walk 27 January 2014

This Tuesday 27 January we will meet at the Drakensberg Sun Hotel car park at 7.00 am. We will do a walk up the valley through the indigenous forest to the Blue Grotto where we will have morning tea. From there we will walk on to Barry's grave and back to the Sun hotel. A moderate to easy walk of about 3 hours  the first half in the shade of the forest.

First walk of the new year

The Champagne Valley walking club will be doing their fisst walk of the year on Tuesday 14 January. The walk starts at Cathkin Estates Car park at 7.00 am. and will be a walk in the estate with beautiful  views and game viewing. The walk will be followed by tea and a group discussion about the walks for the year.

This week the Champagne Valley walking club will be hosted by Bill Carter for a slide presentation on the indigenous flowers of our area followed by a walk to view the many flowers which are now in full bloom after the spring rains. Meet at  High Berg Cottage at 7.00 am. .
